“Remember, you have been criticizing yourself for years and it hasn’t worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens.” — Louise Hay

There’s a bully in your life. And the scary part? You carry that bully everywhere you go. It lives in your head. It knows all your weak spots. It knows exactly what to say to make you doubt yourself. And it speaks in your voice — which makes it even harder to ignore.

We call it negative self-talk. And it’s one of the biggest things standing between you and the life you are trying to build.

You know the voice. It’s the one that says "You are not smart enough." It’s the one that says "Who do you think you are?" It is the one that whispers "You always mess things up" right before you are about to try something new.

That voice is not the truth. It is just a habit. A bad one. And like every bad habit, it can be broken.

Here is where that voice usually comes from. At some point in your life, someone said something hurtful to you. A parent. A teacher. An ex. A bully. Maybe it happened once. Maybe it happened a hundred times. And your brain, trying to protect you, memorized those words. Now it repeats them — even when no one else is in the room.

That’s not weakness. That’s just how the human brain works. The good news is that your brain can learn new stuff. Including a new way to talk to itself.

Here is something powerful. You would never speak to your child the way your inner critic speaks to you. You would never look at your best friend and say "You are a failure." So why do you allow that voice to say it to you?

You deserve the same kindness you give others. Maybe even more.

Building a winning life starts on the inside. It starts with believing — really believing — that you are capable. That you are worthy. That your best days are ahead of you and not behind you.

Every champion has a coach. It’s time to fire the inner critic and hire an inner coach. One that tells you the truth - not the lie - not the fear.

You’ve survived everything that tried to stop you. That is not nothing. That is everything.

Your Action Step:

Starting today, catch yourself every time that negative inner voice speaks up. Then talk back to it out loud. Replace the lie with truth. Instead of "I can't do this," say "I am learning and I am growing." Do this every day for 21 days and watch how differently you begin to feel about yourself.
